Manchmal kommt einfach das Leben dazwischen…

Es ist lang her, seit meinem letzten persönlichen Blogpost. Nachdem ich während meines USA-Aufenthaltes, als ich bei der wundervollen Fotografin Angela Stott gearbeitet habe, regelmäßig meinen Blog gepflegt habe, überschlugen sich die Ereignisse sobald ich wieder in Fulda angekommen war – ans bloggen war nicht mehr zu denken.

Kurze Zusammenfassung der letzten Monate: Umzug, Wohnung einrichten, familiärer Notfall und nochmal zurück in die USA, Studium und fast jeden Samstag Hochzeiten. Eine Auszeit war ganz dringend nötig und somit sind der liebe Andy und ich durch Spanien gebackpackt. Ich kann nur jedem einen solchen Offline-Urlaub empfehlen – kein Handy, keine E-Mail, kein Facebook. Als Selbstständige hat man oft das Gefühl Tag und Nacht erreichbar sein zu müssen, völlig offline zu sein war eine ganz neue Erfahrung. Spanien selbst war natürlich auch wunderschön, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Granada, Madrid, San Sebastian, A Coruña ein Traum, für eine Destination Hochzeit dort wäre ich jederzeit bereit

Jetzt geht es völlig entspannt und mit neuem Elan zurück an die Arbeit und ich bin gewappnet für die letzten Hochzeiten der Saison.

Sometimes life gets in the way …

It’s been a while since my last personal blog post (and this is the first English one ever, YAY). During my time in Asheville, NC while working for the wonderful photographer Angela Stott, I updated my blog regularly. As soon as I arrived back in Fulda, Germany things went haywire – blogging was no longer possible. A brief summary of the last few months: Moving, decorating the new apartment, family emergency with return to the U.S., University, and weddings almost every Saturday.

A time-out was very much needed and therefore Andy and I went backpacking through Spain. I can only recommend such an offline vacation – no phone, no email, no Facebook. Being self-employed you sometimes feel you need to be available 24/7. Setting up private time and being totally offline was a new experience. Spain itself was beautiful as expected, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Granada, Madrid, San Sebastian, A Coruña were gorgeous I would be up for a destination wedding there any time :-).

Now I’ve returned back to work completely relaxed and full of energy, perfectly prepared for the last weddings of the season.
